Rowardennan Lodge Youth Hostel sits in an idyllic location on the banks of Loch Lomond with panoramic views across the loch.
The lodge offers a wide range of private rooms and comfortable shared dorms. Only one of the bedrooms is
en-suite but there are ample shower and washroom facilities available. WiFi is free for all guests and other facilities include: a well-equipped self-catering kitchen, large lounge with fantastic views over Loch Lomond, a laundry and drying room. Basic provisions, confectionery and soft drinks are available to purchase at reception.
Rowardennan Lodge is a dog-friendly hostel. If you would like to book yourself and your dog into the hostel, please phone the hostel direct on: +44 (0) 1360 870 259 to check availability. There is a small charge of £7.50 per night for your dog when staying in our hostels.
‘Wee Breakfast’ available along with Evening Meals (Please remember to pre-book your breakfast). Evening meals are served between 6pm and 7.30pm.
The hostel is a popular venue for events and is available for exclusive private rental during the winter season from November to March.

Easy to get to and a nice, comfortable place to stay after a long day of hiking. Check-in and check-out were easy, staff were friendly. Included breakfast had exactly what we needed to start the next day. Hot showers, quiet building - a great place to stay if you're in the area or hiking the WHW!Maria

Rowardennan Hostel is in the most incredible location and really easy to reach by public transport from the central belt. Sitting at the foot of Ben Lomond it is perfect for anyone with ambitions of getting out into the highlands.Robin

I could just do what I wanted/needed to do and found other hostellers easy to get on with, and it was just along the road from a route up Binnean nan Gobhar, which was on my to-do list.Ian

I had a great stay at Rowardennan Youth Hostel. The location is perfect, right on the WHW and close to the Ben Lomond route, with a great view on the lake. Staff was really welcoming and helpful. Food offer was fine and suitable for vegetarians and vegans. The kitchen for self catering has all that you need. Common room is warm and cosy, with board games available. Rooms and bathrooms are good.Mathilde

We were attracted by the location of the hostel and initially would like to relax and enjoy the wondrous Loch Lomond. But the weather has been too good to be true and we were tempted to try Ben Lomond. Encouraged by the warmth and supportive hostel staff and hikers along the path, we reached the peak! It's arduous, emotive but we are quite proud of being able to persévère. Thanks for all the encouragement, inspiration from all of you; thanks Scotland for such wonders!Hilda & Jim from HK

Everything about our stay was wonderful - we stayed for 4 nights, which we were told is very unusual. All the staff we were met were really friendly and went out of their way to be helpful and make our stay so enjoyable. We mainly saw Tracey and Luke, and James the manager who was so supportive and helpful when one of our car tyres got a slow puncture.The hostel is a beautiful building with very good facilities. The lounge was very comfortable with absolutely stunning views!SaraW

The room (female dorm) was clean and quiet, everyone was respectful. Dinner was great and the packed lunches we purchased were fabulous. It was an incredibly hot day (possibly one of the hottest of the year lol) and the dorm room was very hot all night but this is a rare problem to have I'm sure.Meghan

It's a popular choice with walkers seeking comfort after an hard day's trek and anyone simply looking to explore and enjoy the magnificent scenery of the National Park.
Relax in the lounge and soak up the views, take advantage of picnic tables in the grounds of the hostel overlooking the loch or indulge in of some of the activities available in the local area including water sports and fishing.
For the less adventurous there are plenty of opportunities to explore the amazing scenery with a number of low level walks within easy reach of the hostel.
