Glencoe Youth Hostel
About About this youth hostel
We welcome the recent announcement by the Scottish Government on the gradual and responsible easing of restrictions from 19 July. Unfortunately due to continued requirement for social distancing, we are unable to open our self-catering kitchens at this time. We hope to provide a date for the opening of these facilities following the next Scottish Government update. The health, safety and wellbeing of our guests, employees and the communities in which we operate remains our main priority at this time. For more information on what to expect when staying with us please visit the FAQ's section of this website.
As you’ll appreciate, advice on Covid-19 is constantly changing and we would ask all our guests to continue to refer to Scottish Government guidelines and Transport Scotland advice on travel and social distancing when making their booking.

for 2020, why not try a little bit of Pod Life! Our deluxe glamping pod, sitting in the grounds of the hostel, comfortably sleeps two adults in a double bed and has an en-suite shower and toilet. It even has a small porch area where you can relax and enjoy the view.

10/07/21We stayed the night at this wonderful hostel prior to taking on the three peaks challenge . I have marked the facilities score down due to the pandemic and the unavailability on certain things.( Thanks Nicola !!!)The staff are all fantastic and nothing was too much trouble . I would stay here again in a heartbeat as would my 15 friends . Thanks for everything Thomas and your wonderful team
06/07/21We arrived to a cheery welcome as a family of 5. Hostel was easy to find, parking was great. Room was excellent, clean, tidy and fresh. The best bit was our host Thomas, he was extremely knowledgeable and happy to give us recommendations during our stay. Thank you for making or first family hosteling experience a brilliant one.
05/07/21Good hostel in a great locationNo use of kitchen facilities due to covid 19 rulesOverall good experience
30/06/21Fantastic staff and location superb. Would definitely recommend...
07/06/21We had the pleasure of staying in the new camping pod at Glencoe hostel - it was comfortable and had more space than we expected including an ensuite bathroom and a small patio with a view of the mountains. The indoor seating area in the pod meant we could see the view behind the luxury of a glass door when the weather was wet. The kitchen in the hostel was closed due to COVID restrictions (hence the lower rating for facilities) however I still fully recommend a visit.
17/09/20It'sa couple of years since I visited this hostel and the upgrade to the kitchen was impressive. It was a fantastic hostel for our family get together; we really enjoyed the cosy lounge. Definitely recommend it for private hire!
12/08/20Our new favourite Hostelling Scotland hostel! We used the Hostel as a Rent-a-Hostel with two families (total 10 persons). On arrival we received an excellent welcome from Thomas, the Hostel manager, who made us feel safe and reassured. The bedrooms are really comfortable and there is enough bathrooms too. With the open plan living and cosy quiet lounge, this hostel just ticks all the boxes for a staycation in a beautiful location.
21/03/20Friendly and well maintained hostel perfect for all ages.
06/03/20It was clean friendly inviting, modern & excellent. I don't know how you do it for the money. I am a big YHA / SYHA fan
24/02/20Fantastic. How hostels should be.
04/02/20Great for a school group of 14 + 3 staff. Excellent location, friendly staff, clean and modern facilities. We'll be booking again next year.
26/01/20Thomas has managed Glencoe YH for several years now. He and his staff always give a warm welcome to this well-located hostel. We will be back
25/01/20Very friendly reception fromThomas. Our two dogs were welcomed. The lounge was lovely and comfortable
20/01/20A good all round stay.
05/01/20A fabulous new year's stay in the unique Glencoe hostel. A bustling, warm atmosphere, friendly & helpful staff and the perfect base for exceptional Munro walking and for a memorable Hogmanay.
22/12/19Very well equipped, very clean and Tom and Thomas were super friendly and helpful.
15/12/19Thomas went out of his way to look after us. Excellent service and cleanliness.
03/12/19Glencoe is perfectly suited to the outdoor community. As it should be! You are lucky to have a manager like Thomas. Thank you.
10/11/19Great value for money, had a pleasant stay. Very nice and clean!
05/11/19Great place to stay...really good for Glencoe and area. Lovely to be so close to the hills and the river
01/11/19Haven't stayed in a hostel for 25 years and despite trepidation, was a great experience. Very reasonable and great check in staff. The people bit made all the difference. Knowledgable and chatty, while giving you space. I'll be back. Alan.
28/10/19Stayed her a few times, must book in advance because it gets full very quickly. Perfect base to explore the hills or surrounding areas by car. Very good pub/restaurant 1.6km down the road with good food at very good prices. Hostel is very clean, water in showers are warm, beds are comfy and kitchen is very well stocked.
24/10/19A great hostel with a modernised interior and a modern spacious self-catering kitchen. Private room not en-suite but that is fairly normal in older converted buildings. On a quiet side road close to the pass of Glencoe, with plenty of parking.
22/10/19Excellent location to Glencoe and Glen Etive as well as Fort William (Aonoch Eagach actually starts/finishes behind hostel). Spacious hostel - good showers and drying room. Friendly staff. Overall very good value for money. Co-op just a few miles away in Ballachuish and Clachaig Inn an excellent pub one mile away.
21/10/19Was perfectly situated and had great facilities as well as a drying room ideal for after hill walking. Reasonably priced for a private twin room.
21/10/19Excellent hostel with super kitchen facilities. Clean quiet. Very friendly staff.
09/10/19Brilliant as always. I feel very comfortable in the Glen Coe hostel. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the location is perfect.
09/10/19Great welcome nothingToo much trouble
27/09/19A favorite hostel. In the heart of this beautiful place. All the amenities needed for a comfortable stay and du cooking. A bit far from the big hill walks and public transit if you don't have a car.
