Overall a very good stay - location & views were good. Bike shed was a little small, but not a show stopper.Matthew

Great spot to stay. I really like the firm mattress and bedside individual lights and USB charging ports - your sister hostels up and down the land need to copy this. 2 minor quibbles - cutlery icons decorate several drawers in kitchen but the cutlery is in an open tray in a corner beside a sink. Shower needs a soap dish.Maciej

Haven't been here for a while. The 'new' layout downstairs is good. Kitchen can be cramped with so many people and would benefit from induction hobs, but this is not a big thing.Mumbles Head

Very Nice expérience but the only little things to improve is the hardness of the mattress.Nanie Cabz

Great Hostel in the astonishing Glen Nevis with a lot of options for activities plus a friendly and warm youth hostel team on site. Sitting on the terrace with a coffee or a beer and enjoying the great view on Ben Nevis and the Glen Nevis is fantastic.Marc Overmann

A perfect stop ! I booked this hostel on my way between Glencoe and Isle of Skye and it was perfect. The outside area is gorgeous, and the facilities are very nice, confortable and super clean. Staff is welcoming and helpful. The only regret that I got is to haven't decide to stayed an extra night.Louise

Glen Nevis hostel is in a stunning location and the views of the mountains with the sun setting is breath taking. It is ideally located for walking but also for driving further afield to walk, such as Oban, Glen Roy, Loch Morar or Loch Bracara, and Glencoe to name a few. It is spotlessly clean but the kitchen can get "packed" if the hostel is full around tea time.Russeyfoal

This hostel has everything I needed. I was walking and hiking everyday in a very wet weather. It was just nice to come back to the hostel to relax, to make my own food and to prepare my things for the next day.Cristina

Great location and staff. Bed was comfortable and the strong hot shower welcome. Good kitchen facilities and overall atmosphere. I had a twin room and would have appreciated the option to have 2x single beds pushed together rather than a stacked bunk (hard to sit up and no other chair in room). Otherwise great and plan to come back.Sarah

Our two-night stay with more than 43 students and 4 teachers was great. Superb location. Great organisation. Warm welcome and lounge. The self-catering kitchen is large and well-fitted and the rooms are really comfortable.Substantial breakfast and excellent sandwiches for our packed lunches.I do recommend this place with no hesitation.Laurence Marseille, French High School
Reasons to visit
Glen Nevis Youth Hostel sits at the foot of Ben Nevis with a path to the mountain leading directly from its door. And with Britain's highest mountain, a world class mountain biking course and some of Scotland's most dramatic landscapes on its doorstep it's no wonder Glen Nevis is one of the most popular destinations in our network.
The area is also home one of the highest waterfalls in Scotland, the Steall Falls. The walk to the falls is spectacular and suitable for most abilities with the correct footwear.
For those looking for an adrenaline rush, other activities in the area include sea kayaking, white water rafting, winter sports and a high wire adventure course. Off Beat Bikes in Fort William also offer bike hire (standard, tandem & tourers), as well as detailed route advice and information about local cycling routes.
Described as the greatest railway journey in the world and a must for Harry Potter fans, the Jacobite steam train made famous by the Harry Potter movies takes you on an 84 mile round trip past a list of impressive extremes. Starting near the highest mountain in Britain it then visits Britain’s most westerly mainland railway station, passes the deepest freshwater loch in Britain and the shortest river in Britain, before ending its journey next to the deepest seawater loch in Europe!
