What are Members' Groups?
Members’ Groups are informal groups, set up by like-minded Hostelling Scotland members who share an interest or hobby within the setting of our youth hostels.
They offer the chance to meet people with similar interests, to pursue a hobby or to go on trips and outings across Scotland. The groups are likely to cover interests such as hill-walking, mountain-biking, group hostelling with kids, sponsored treks, gardening, conservation and any other activities suggested by members.
Some groups hold informal meetings, some go out to visit youth hostels, while others get involved with volunteer projects around the country.
Participation in the Members’ Groups is entirely optional – you don’t have to belong to a group to stay in any of our youth hostels. The groups are free to join, and you can choose how often you want to take part. You may even want to start your own group. We hope that as many members as possible will join, as this is your opportunity to become more involved with Hostelling Scotland and help take the organisation forward, while enjoying yourself at the same time.
