24/09/21Great location for the West Highland Way or Ben Lomond. The staff were incredibly kind, friendly and helpful. The food was good, especially for the price, and was better than the meal we had at the pub down the road. Beautiful building in a gorgeous location.

18/09/21The service at this youth hostel was very good and being able to book breakfast, lunch and dinner was good as well - which were all very nice. The hostel is situated in a lovely area and there is a beautiful view from the lounge. There are very few places to stay in the area and so if you wanted somewhere that was slightly cheaper but still a reasonable place to stay then this hostel is a good option while walking the West Highland Way or climbing the nearby Ben Lomond.
18/09/21We had a great stay and enjoyed the warm welcome, comfortable room and excellent dinner which I highly recommend.
18/09/21Amazing location and perfect base for walking up Ben Lomond.Staff were very friendly and helpful with dietary needs.

06/09/21Helpful, friendly staff, good food, comfortable beds, all in a lovely location
06/09/21The team on duty were very friendly and helpful with hiking tips/advice. Had a perfectly textured and flavoursome red pepper soup and a nicely spiced chicken curry with rice and salad for dinner. Well done chef!Location was key to my choice to stay there as it's nicely positioned in a quieter spot beyond the hotel, Clansman bar and camp site and very convenient for the start of the Ptarmigan path. You can take a boat to the other side of the loch but I settled for a post-walk paddle.
06/09/21What a fantastic place. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Such friendly, helpful staff. Delicious, cheap food. Immaculate, so comfy. We will be going back to stay for a week. :)
01/09/21Thanks to Catherine for a warm welcome and clear instructions. I've only marked down on a few things due to the covid situation, it's always a pleasure to stay usually and meet fellow travellers.
31/08/21Lovely hostel in an amazing location. Staff were friendly and accommodating, and the evening meals were good value , substantial and tasty. We stayed with two young kids, who absolutely loved it, and we were lucky enough to have good weather which definitely helped. We will be back.

25/08/21Very friendly staff. Lovely location. Excellent evening meal.
23/08/21Absolutely awesome location - still one of my favourite hostels ever.
23/08/21We loved our stay at this hostel. The location is incredible alongside the loch with mountains and hills to climb behind. Early one morning, sitting in the sitting room looking out over the garden and the loch, hoping to see a red squirrel, I watched an otter in the water and on the shore which was magical. I never did see the red squirrel!
11/08/21Friendly faces in a stunning location. A great place do go for a swim and for amazing walks. Nothing too much trouble and lovely food.
06/08/21An excellent hostel in a beautiful location. The staff were so friendly and helpful.
26/07/21A great place to stay. Stunning view from the generously sized private room.
26/07/21Beautiful old house in the middle of nowhere...What a delight to open the window and see the Lock and the hills! The green in front of the house was ideal to lay on the grass and the meals were tasty.
25/07/21Lovely location. All staff were excellent and friendly. The food was decent too and I'd definitely recommend this hostel as a stop on the West Highland Way.
22/07/21We had the best stay. Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Food was excellent. Setting was magic
15/07/21Arrived late after a solo walk from Drymen. Check in staff were lovely and accommodating. Clean room and washroom. Beautiful setting, I looked out of my room window to see a deer.Would definitely come back.
