Great place to stay - right in the centre of Portree. Walking distance to everything you need! There's a big car park at the back of the hostel which is currently being extended so we had no trouble with finding somewhere to park (this could also be because of reduced travellers due to COVID) manger was friendly, knowledgable and accommodating. Straightforward unfussy, value accommodation in a supper location! Definitely recommend!!Kyle H

Great hostel in the heart of the town. Checking was simple and quick, Covid restrictions explained really well. Double bed, TV and tea making facilities in room. We booked a room with private bathroom and it was great. Hostel is right in the town centre.Kevin42

The hostel is in a stunning location right on Portree's bay, our 8 bed room over looked the sea and was extremely clean, light and perfect for what we needed! The check in experience was very simple and we felt comfortable with how good the covid precautions were, with a one way system and masks required everywhere.Rebecca

Despite having just re-opened after a 4 month closure, restrictions in place to protect hostellers from Coronavirus & a new IT system that staff weren't used to, our stay at Portree Hostel was an absolute pleasure. Jaime provided a warm welcome, overcame difficulties in transferring us from Broadford (which was closed) and set us up in the same room for two nights. The setting is fantastic - close to town centre, overlooking the bay, close to free parking. Rooms bright and clean, beds comfy.TartanTraveller1961

Excellent welcoming staff and a very nice en suite room with double bed. Even had a kettle and coffee and tea - can't believe I was in a Youth Hostel. Very good value for money at £40 per night. The last time I stayed in a Youth Hostel on the Isle of Skye was in 1979 when I recall being berated by the Warden for not cleaning the showers properly -how times have changed! (for the better!)Mike Day

I havn't been hostelling for over 50 years and was delighted that in many ways it feels the same but with a very modern outlook. Caroline runs a neat ship and the hostel has plenty of space to cook, sit and eat and relax .. and of course is surrounded by some lovely hill walks .. which is what I came for.The Dalai Llama

Very spontaneously decided to go up to the Isle of Skye and was lucky enough to stay one night at the Portree Youth Hostel. I received a warm welcome from the sweet and very helpful staff and met some really nice people to spent the evening together. There is much to explore on the Isle of Skye so I would recommend staying at least 2-3 nights to have enough time for all the different spots. Portree was definitely one of the highlights of my trip through Scotland!Karoline
