About About this hostel

Craigower Lodge nestles in a quiet location in Newtonmore, a small village in the Cairngorms National Park, with easy access to the mountains, forests and glens.

The comfortable Lodge accommodates up to 68 people and can be split into two sections each with its own accommodation, lounge and kitchen. It's a great place for group to get-togethers. WiFi access is free.

We can also provide equipment rental for most outdoor sports including snowsports, winter skills, canoes, mountain bikes and kayaks. Instruction or guiding is available if required.

Activity attractions include white water rafting, recreation biking, canoeing, kayaking, canyoning and rock climbing. There are low and high level walks and cycle routes within easy reach. Surrounded by nature walks, forest trails and riverside paths you're spoilt for choice of places to explore.

Within 30 minutes of the Lodge you can access around 50 Munros, three of which you can walk to from our doorstep!

We have some of Scotland’s finest rivers for canoeing, kayaking and white water rafting including the Rivers Spey and Findhorn. In addition, we're only 30 minutes' drive from Cairngorm Mountain ski area and 45 minutes from the Nevis Range.

From winter and water sports to hillwalking, climbing and mountain biking, the surrounding Cairngorms National Park has activities for everyone.

If you're looking for less strenuous activities you'll be spoilt for choice, with numerous low level walks and cycle tracks giving you the opportunity to explore and discover the natural beauty of the National Park and its abundance of wildlife.
