The first ever Women's Tour of Scotland is sure to inspire a nation of cyclists!
The three day, three stage race will be contested by many of the top women’s teams in the world – plus the cream of Great Britain and Scotland’s female cycling talent. Cycling will be celebrated from August 9th to August 11th in five cities and scores of towns and villages along the 350km route. The three stages are:
Stage 1: Dundee to Dunfermline
Stage 2: Glasgow to Perth
Stage 3: Edinburgh
Get involved and enjoy the carnival atmosphere at each stage start and finish with family friendly activation zones, finishing on Sunday 11th August in Edinburgh’s iconic Holyrood Park. With an expected 100,000 spectators, the Tour will attract visitors, fans and cycling enthusiasts from across the UK, Europe and worldwide.
The Women’s Tour of Scotland is a new and permanent fixture on the professional cycling calendar that is set to take place from 9 to 11 August and will be divided into two parts; a world-class cycling race with female pro teams from all corners of the globe as well as a public cycling event with 5,000 participants from across Scotland and beyond. The 350km route that the professional athletes will take on will show off Scotland’s stunning landscape to a global TV audience. The event has been created to show off the importance of female cycling in sport and engage a new audience in cycling.
