Plans for reopening
Plans for reopening
Following the First Minister’s recent announcement regarding the easing of COVID-19 restrictions, Scotland’s lockdown remains in place. Regrettably this does mean we have to extend our temporary closure and with possible restrictions still in place for hospitality, we have taken the decision to remain closed until Thursday 27th May, inclusive.
Whilst we await further announcements we know the easing of measures will be implemented cautiously and gradually, and in late April there will most likely be a return to regionalised restriction levels that are regularly reviewed and updated.
However with the current information available, and subject to government guidelines and restrictions, we hope to commence the phased reopening of the Hostelling Scotland network from Friday 28th May 2021 as follows:
- With the opening of hostels to book on a private room only basis
- With the opening of hostels suitable to book exclusively for a staycation holiday
- With the opening of our new Pod in Glencoe
Please note that we expect demand to be high and will be regularly updating availability on our website. Our Covid Flexibility Guarantee ensures you can continue to book with confidence.
The health and safety of our teams and guests remains our top priority. Each hostel will be carefully assessed to determine the maximum number of guests who can safely stay at any one time and to further ensure your well-being, we will have enhanced cleaning protocols in place.
For the time being, bookings will be open to private rooms only with optional take away breakfast and limited dinner choices offered in more rural locations. Additional information on facilities and what to expect can also be found on the FAQ section of our website.
Meanwhile, should your reservation be impacted, you are protected by our Covid-19 flexible booking guarantee and we will do everything we can to offer you a suitable alternative or move your existing reservation to a future date. If this is not possible then a full refund will be given.
We will be contacting guests via email regarding their stays up to the 27th May 2021 but if you would like to contact us, please email firstname.lastname@example.org quoting your booking reference number and a member of the team will get in touch as soon as possible. Our team is available Monday-Friday from 09.00 to 17.00 but with the volume of enquiries, we ask for your patience as we take time to respond to our guests.
(For all bookings made via a Third Party including Hostelling International you will need to contact them directly for assistance).
Thank you again for your understanding and the kind messages of support sent to us since the COVID-19 crisis unfolded. Once we all start travelling again you can be certain that we will be here for you, ready to provide the warm welcome you’ve come to expect from Hostelling Scotland.
Please stay well, look after one another and we hope to see you soon.
